Jet Airways calls back retrenched staff to work – Yet another publicity stunt.

This is something which is shameful to Indian Corporate house, layoff itself was not a right way to do cost cutting, more over cost cutting is a process not an initiative which you take when you suffer.

Any company doing layoff must ask their management first who are driving the business, why because of their wrong decision or why due to change in economy a simple guy working at the bottom of pyramid should suffer? After all for the higher level management things are visible well and before time, they know very well where and how company is running and what will happen in near future then why an innocent guy who just executes orders of the top level managements should face the heat?

It is shameful to any company doing such act, if they really want to do then layoff their top layer management who are sole responsible for the company’s position!!!

Jet Airways chairman, Naresh Goyal asks employees to come back to work from tomorrow.

In the late evening press conference on Thursday, Naresh Goyal said, “I apologies for all the trauma which the sacked employees have gone through in last two days. The company is like my family and so are the employees. My conscious does not allow me to see my employees worried.”
The management of the company took this decision of sacking the employees due to the financial woes that the entire industry is going through.

Naresh Goyal also mentioned that he did not took the decision of calling back the sacked employees due to any pressure- neither the management nor any political. He said, “The decision is my own.”

Talking on the alliance with Kingfisher, he said alliance is another issue. There has not been any such alliance in the country yet. Speaking on the management, he said, “The management will have to understand the issue as it is about the welfare of the employees who have been hired by the company. The management may not like my decision but I have made it”

Cost cutting is important and I have faith in my management. Staff may be reinstated with less pay package, though Mr Goyal mentioned that he has not yet decided on the salary revision.
An emotion Goyal, further said, “I could not sleep for last two days. For me economy cannot be the sole factor and I will go ahead with my conscience.”
